Frequently asked questions about CBD oil

What is CBD?

How should I dose CBD?

The correct dosage of CBD is not always easy. In the following we show 5 tips for easy CBD dosing:

  1. You need to know how much CBD is in your product. For example, a 5% CBDSÍ CBD oil contains 500mg of cannabidiol. One drop contains 2mg of CBD.
  2. The right dosage depends on various factors. In addition to body weight, the severity of the condition also plays a decisive role.
  3. Start with a small dosage. A lot does not always help a lot. Too high a dosage can lead to unwanted side effects such as fatigue.
  4. Increase the dosage slowly. Write down how much CBD you have taken and felt.
  5. Use a dosage calculator to find the optimal dosage for you.

How does CBD work?

CBD can affect the body because every mammal has an endocannabinoid system. The body produces cannabinoids itself. But they can also be supplied from the outside. When you take CBD oil, the cannabidiol attaches to so-called CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system. These send corresponding signals. The endocannabinoid system is part of the central nervous system and its receptors are distributed throughout the body. They are located in the brain, among other places, which is why CBD can have a pain-regulating and mood-lifting effect, for example. The endocannabinoid system also influences the digestive system, the nervous system and the immune system. That is why the effects of CBD are so diverse.

Is CBD legal?

The substance CBD is legal in Germany and is not considered a narcotic. The legality of CBD products, however, depends on various factors. In many cases, the legal situation is not always clear.

For CBD products to be legal, they must meet the following legal requirements:

  • Production from EU commercial hemp
  • Legally valid registration
  • Less than 0.2% THC
  • Advertising without healing promises
  • Sale from the age of 18

As CBD is not intoxicating, there are no problems when driving.

What is THC?

THC is the abbreviation for tetrahydrocannabinol. There are over 100 known cannabinoids - natural active ingredients of the hemp plant. The best known are CBD and THC. In contrast to CBD, THC is psychoactive and has side effects such as increased appetite, fatigue or dizziness. THC is the substance that makes you high when smoking pot. In Germany, cultivation, distribution and possession are largely illegal. The situation is different with CBD flowers, which look very similar to THC. In rare exceptional cases, medical cannabis with THC is available on prescription. This is because studies show that THC could be particularly helpful for chronic pain or cancer patients. Legal CBD products in Germany are allowed to have a THC content of maximum 0.2%. Since the end of 2021, the new German government plans to legalise cannabis for recreational use.

What diseases could CBD help with?

Possible uses of cannabidiol are manifold. Some are less researched, some more. Studies show: CBD could relieve pain. Therefore, there is a possibility that CBD could help with the following diseases:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Migraine
  • Period pain
  • Other chronic pain disorders

Because CBD could also have anti-inflammatory effects, there is a possibility that it could be used to treat irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatism, or even inflammation in the nerve tissue that occurs with Alzheimer's disease. Because of its supposed sedative and antipsychotic effects, CBD use is being researched for depression, anxiety disorders or schizophrenia. Research has also shown that CBD strengthens the immune system and may work against viral diseases such as hepatitis and corona. All this comes from the power of the hemp plant, because cannabidiol is a natural active ingredient.
